LETTING GO 2

I was at the verge of committing suicide that I met Tonye.  Most times I asked myself, can men just take their eyes off me. He was there all the way admonishing and encouraging me not to give up. And then I started healing. He actually got me another great job.

Tonye was not a man to waste time at all. Did I mention that my ex was fantastic, oh; he was no match for Tonye. We got deeper in our relationship and in no time we fixed our wedding date.

I guess I have come to a point in my life that nothing matters to me anymore; whatever is not yours will definitely not stay.  My life began on another fresh page and I was ready to have it all in.

Wax never made attempt to reach out so with the joy that was ahead of me, he was completely forgotten. Tonye got us a brand new duplex apartment and to crown it up, he gifted me with a brand new SUV Benz.

It’s true the proverbs that states “the house of a king that burns, only adds aesthetics”. My life; so beautiful people around wondered how I made it despite the blow. Couple of months later, we got married. We were out of the country for our honeymoon.

Life was going so well. I was driving from work then the unexpected happened. I heard a tap on my side wind shield and then I saw myself looking into the eyes of the man who disappeared without a trace.

I was shocked to my marrow. Wax was looking more handsome to the last time I saw him. Oh Lord, what is happening? We exchanged greetings and he was happy and apologetic. He promised to call and I was excited about it.

Wake up, Van, WAKE UP!!! The scream was only in my head and it wasn’t loud enough.  My husband noticed the change but he was just too much of a gentle man to ask. “honey are you ok, you have been absent minded of late” he voiced out some days later. “I am very ok, just the stress of work that’s all….. And then love I will be coming late today, wanna see my mum so don’t wait up, ok?” My husband was not satisfied by my response but he didn’t push further.

The breeze was salty and fresh. “I forgive you”. I said again to Wax. I am married now” I said weakly.  “I know, the fact that you agreed to meet me at our favorite spot shows you still have something for me”. He moved closer and then placed his lips on mine. Oh, why should he taste this good. Van stop!!! But I was too gone to stop now. He came on me and began to perform the magic he knew well. Of course he made me a woman and he was good at it. We were both naked and then he made his way into me.

I woke up with a start. “it’s only a dream” I said. I turned to my left only to see Wax breathing his cool breathes into my flesh.

“No!!!!!!!” I shouted, Wax was scared by my scream. He begged but it was too late.
That marked the beginning of my extra marital affairs with Wax. My life was in disarray. My husband lost his charm to me.

The argument in my marriage had built up so much that my husband couldn’t concentrate on anything. He kept begging me but I wouldn’t listen. We were at our usual argument one of those days and then I rushed out of the house with my load. He wore a boxer.

He ran after me and then I ran the more. The sound of a crash made me stop. I looked back only for me to see Tonye in the pool of his own blood.

The deed was done. We had the funeral. Some days later, I went to Wax’s house only for me to be told that he had traveled back. ……..

If you are reading this story, I am far gone. Sometimes, it’s always good to let go………..
